Nancy Battles, MRI at Jewish - Downtown Louisville (submitted by David Dafoe)

I have a great deal of experience with the MRI Department at JH - over the last three years I have had more than a dozen MRIs on my brain and/or spine. I have been an in patient and an out patient..... I have walked in, been wheeled in by chair and by stretcher. Every week, when I walk into the Holistic Center, Sister Lucille uses her incredible expertise to determine which alternative healing technique(s) are best to treat my c...

Janet Harrell

Jewish Hospital Shelbyville

It was early one winter morning when a gentleman in distress found himself in the parking lot at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville. He entered the hospital and approached the front information desk. "I need help," he told the registrar. She directed him to the hospital’s Emergency Department. "I’ve been there - they can’t help me," he shared. The registrar asked for more detail regarding the gentleman’s problem. "I am going to kill myself today," he said.

The hospital registrar he encountered just happened to be Janet Harrell, a 15-year veteran of Jewish...

Our Lady of Peace

The Theme Basket Raffle, which is held each year during the holidays at Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare to raise money for hospital projects, is in itself a "Mission Moment" for our organization as team members come together to do something really special to support our healing mission. There is nothing like the excitement and joy that this event generates as departments come together to donate baskets based on themes-from sports to spas. But there was a specific moment from the December 2007 event at Our Lady of Peace that further demonstrates our mission in ac...
